Abstract Expressioinism No.1
Painted in 1967
16" x 12"
Oil on plywood
This is one of my favorites and a rare look for Sydna. In her entire collection, there are only two abstract expressionistic pieces - both amazing. I'm very surprised she didn't explore this more. I think she would have found great success with this style.
- Available in a 3-panel version - great for increasing the visual impact on a large wall.

Rough Seas
Painted c. 1963-1969
20" x 16"
Oil on canvas
ART BY ELLEN
Ellen is my aunt, and Synda's daughter. In the 1960s, Sydna convinced Aunt Ellen to explore her artistic side. The result was a few pieces of work. Aunt Ellen never thought her work was good. And, her work hasn't been seen since it's creation over 40 years ago.

Peace in Israel
Painted 1969
18" x 14"
Oil on canvas
This rare Sydna painting is in the cubism style. It almost looks like a stained glass piece. And, we chose the name from the inspiration of the piece's elements - a palm tree, dove, bowl of fruit, palm leaves, an Oud [1], and a wine container. The background is reminiscent of desert sands and an oasis or coastal waters.
[1] An Oud is a pear-shaped instrument commonly used Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Byzantine, and Middle Eastern music. [Wikipedia]

The Talking Parratt
Painted in 1961
12" x 16"
Oil on canvas
Yes, we know the word parrot is misspelled. And, we had thought about correcting the title. But, Sydna misspelled the word when she wrote it on the canvas' back. We'll never know if the misspelling was intentional, a mistake, or had other meaning. But, we've decided to keep the original name. It makes us uneasy to leave it that way. Every time we see it, our head is screaming, 'THAT'S THE WRONG SPELLING!" But, the emotional frustration is consistent with our relationship with grandma. So, we leave it as it.
